Eagle Creek Delivers First Refurbished Aircraft For Colombian Army

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Eagle Creek Aviation Services, a leading provider of aircraft services, new and used aircraft sales, and aircraft charter and management, announced today that it delivered its first of two contracted refurbished Grand Renaissance Twin Commanders to the Colombian Army last week.

Eagle Creek is the global leader in Twin Commander sales and service and performed the entire Grand Renaissance refurbishment program on the aircraft.  The Grand Renaissance program results in a factory-certified aircraft of superlative quality, safety and long-term value based on a comprehensive overhaul of virtually all systems and components.

“We are very pleased with the way the aircraft turned out,” said Matt Hagans, Eagle Creek’s CEO.  “After this level of refurbishment, it is hard to tell that it isn’t a new airplane. Moving forward, we are now focused on the completion of the second aircraft.”

The refurbishment was completed with an on-time delivery on a Twin Commander 980.  The total workscope required eight months and over 7,000 man-hours to complete.  New paint and interior finished the refurbishment. Eagle Creek also, as part of the upgrade, removed all the old avionics and wiring and installed an extensive panel upgrade that included dual Garmin G600 Flight Displays, Garmin GTN 750 and GTN 650 GPS/Nav/Comm units, a Garmin GMA 35 Audio Panel, dual Garmin GTX 33 Transponders, a Garmin GWX 68 Weather Radar and a Meggitt Avionics Engine Instruments Display System.

The second Colombian airplane, currently in process at Eagle Creek’s Indianapolis facility, is a Twin Commander 1000 scheduled to be completed later this year. The current refurbishment projects for the Colombian Army follows Eagle Creek’s delivery of a Grand Renaissance Twin Commander to the Mexican Navy last year and the completion of another Grand Renaissance Twin Commander for the County of Kern, California in late 2009.
